About Research Vessel Bob and Betty Beyster

Research Vessel Bob and Betty Beyster is a general-purpose coastal research vessel owned and operated by the Scripps Institute of Oceanography and UC San Diego. Operated from the Scripps Institute home port in Point Loma, the Bob and Betty Beyster is a shared-use research facility that is available for use by scientists, engineers, students and educators supported by federal, state, local and non-governmental agencies. The vessel is named in honor of the late Dr. J.
