About George Palade Laboratories for Cellular and Molecular Medicine
Located on the School of Medicine campus, the George Palade Laboratories function as the home of the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine and house a number of the department's ground-breaking research facilities and patient testing resources. The building is named after Dr. George Palade who is widely known as "the father of modern cell biology." A Noble Prize Laureate, Dr. Palade was appointed as the School of Medicine's first Dean of Scientific Affairs in 1990 and went on to co-found the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine.
