About Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve Trailer
The Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve Trailer serves as a base of operations for UC San Diego's environmental research programs that analyze and observe UC San Diego's Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve. This nature reserve protects approximately 21 acres of salt marsh and upland that is contiguous with the restored wetlands, mudflats, shoals, and open water of the Norther Wildlife preserve owned by the City of San Diego. Scripps Institute of Oceanography has made extensive use of this wildlife reserve as a way of training students in hands on science and environmental stewardship activies. The reserve and its trailer are named after the Kendall and Frost families who sold the tracts of land that now make up the reserve to UC San Diego in 1952.
